3 People Hurt in Monterey County Auto Accident on US Highway 101 near Somavia Road

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (November 21, 2024) – Tuesday night, a disastrous two-vehicle crash on US Highway 101 near Somavia Road injured three people.

The incident happened at around 5:32 p.m. on US Highway 101 near Somavia Road.

The CHP Monterey said that a northbound Ford Escape struck a semi-truck that crossed the northbound lanes and into the path of the Ford. The force of the crash pinned the Ford under the trailer of the semi.

Paramedics airlifted a passenger of the Ford, a minor, to a trauma center with unknown injuries. Then, responders transported the driver and another passenger of the Ford, both were minors, to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified. 

Due to the limited information available, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
