GRANADA HILLS, CA (January 24, 2021) – Saturday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway and 210 Freeway caused a diesel fuel leak.
 
The firefighters and paramedics responded at 12:05 p.m. on northbound 5 Freeway, north of 210 Freeway.
 
According to reports, a jackknifed big rig leaked diesel fuel from a 100-gallon tractor tank because of the multi-vehicle traffic crash. Also, the incident shut down the transition for almost four hours.
 
“LAFD personnel have stopped the leak and are working to contain the spill,” stated Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
 
Humphrey added that the crash didn’t lead to a fire.
 
Also, authorities issued a SigAlert that closed the truck lane from the northbound 5 Freeway to the westbound 210 Freeway. The SigAlert let the crews remove the big rig and clean up the diesel leak.
 
Also, by 3:48 p.m., the authorities reopened the truck route.
