PALM SPRINGS, CA (October 29, 2023) – Early Saturday, Diego Pacheco was arrested after a crippling bicycle accident on Sunrise Way and Ramon Road.

The incident happened at around 1:08 a.m. at the intersection of Sunrise Way and Ramon Road.

According to reports, 22-year-old Pacheco of Mecca driving a white sedan struck the bicyclist. Officers said that the suspect was driving west on Ramon Road when he crashed with the bicyclist who was crossing the roadway.

As a result, responders took the bicyclist to a local hospital, and is in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the authorities arrested the suspect on suspicion of driving under the influence and transported him to the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio for booking.
