Alex Moreno Arrested, Diana Prieto Dies in Accident in Outdoor Dining Patio in San Jose
San Jose, CA (June 12, 2021) On Friday, Diana Prieto, 35, was killed when DUI driver Alex Moreno crashed into Agave Bar and Grill, where Ms. Prieto worked as a server.
According to the San Jose police, Moreno is believed to be driving impaired when he crashed at the Agave Sports Bar in the 500 block of West Alma Avenue.
Furthermore, reports say that the suspect put his Chevrolet Silverado truck in reverse and struck 3 people in the outdoor dining area of the sports bar.
Immediately, paramedics took the 3 victims to the hospital.
Unfortunately, one of the victims, Ms. Preito died at the hospital, while the 2 others sustained only minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a female passenger on the Silverado did not suffer injuries during the crash.
Friends of the deceased say she worked as a server at Agave Bar and Grill, which had only reopened 24 hours before the fatal accident.
Diana Prieto, a teacher from Colombia that immigrated to the U.S., leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
San Jose police arrested the driver of the truck 32-year-old Alex Moreno.
Moreno, 32, is facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.
