2 Dead in Roseville Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 80 near Roseville Parkway
ROSEVILLE, CA (February 10, 2022) – Saturday, 19-year-old Diana Filinyuk and 21-year-old Michael Olifir died in a crash on Interstate 80.
According to reports, the incident happened at about 12:20 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on westbound Interstate 80 near the Roseville Parkway overcrossing.
CHP Public Information Officer David Martinez confirmed that the couple drove on Interstate 80. Then, they witnessed a crash between a Honda Accord and a Nissan Altima. Thus, 19-year-old Diana Filinyuk from Rancho Cordova and 21-year-old Michael Olifir from Antelope stopped to check on the drivers.
As they walked back to their car, 45-year-old Brandy Kincaid in a 2017 Jeep Commander noticed the crash. Then, she tried to avoid the crash by veering left into the center divide. However, his Keep struck and killed Diana Filinyuk and Michael Olifir.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the Jeep didn’t show any signs of DUI. Thus, the authorities didn’t make any arrests since the hit was an accident.
Also, authorities arrested the Honda Accord driver in the two-vehicle crash for driving under the influence. Also, the two-vehicle crash didn’t lead to any injury.
The authorities continue to investigate the deadly crash.
