1 Person Dead in Panola County Traffic Accident on US 79 North and FM 9

PANOLA COUNTY, TX (December 2, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, a devastating two-vehicle crash on US 79 North and FM 9 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:16 p.m. on US 79 North at FM 9.

According to the Panola County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle collided in the area for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, officers confirmed that one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the DPS continued to investigate the crash.
