OAKLAND, CA (September 25, 2023) – Sunday morning, a devastating two-vehicle crash on 73rd Avenue and Holly Street killed two people.

The incident happened at around 10:00 a.m. on 73rd Avenue and Holly Street.

According to the Oakland Police Department, a stolen vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with another vehicle. Then, the force of the crash pushed the victim’s vehicle to roll over and struck a parked vehicle.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the 64-year-old male driver of the impacted vehicle and his 67-year-old female passenger died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported a 48-year-old male rear-end passenger of the vehicle to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, authorities managed to locate and arrest the hit-and-run driver, a 25-year-old man from Oakland, who fled the scene on foot after the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
