1 Person Dead in Vallejo Auto Accident on Tennessee Street near Springs Road

VALLEJO, CA (September 2, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a devastating traffic crash on Tennessee Street near Springs Road killed one person.

The incident started at around 5:35 p.m. when officers spotted a Toyota Avalon in the area of Tennessee Street and Tuolumne Street that matched the description of a car that was involved in multiple armed robberies.

According to the Vallejo Police Department, authorities initiated a pursuit against the vehicle that was running multiple traffic lights but eventually lost sight of the vehicle. Then, another patrol unit spotted the suspect vehicle that was going westbound and weaving in and out of traffic on Springs Road near Mosswood Avenue.

Moments later, the suspect vehicle collided with other vehicles near Springs Road and Tregaskis Avenue. Then, the Avalon driver fled the scene on foot after the collision.

Moreover, officers confirmed that one of the drivers died in the crash. Also, paramedics transported a female passenger of the Avalon to a hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
