SAN DIEGO, CA (September 12, 2024) – Wednesday night, a devastating traffic crash on Pala del Norte Road and Pala Casino killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Pala del Norte Road, just before Pala Casino.

California Highway Patrol logs indicate that at least one individual sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to administer CPR. Details regarding the cause of the crash or potential additional injuries have not yet been released.

According to a post on X by Caltrans, all lanes in the area were shut down for several hours as emergency crews responded to the incident. The roadway was reopened shortly after 10 p.m.
