1 Dead in Salinas Auto Accident on Highway 101 and W Laurel Drive

SALINAS, CA (February 25, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a devastating single-vehicle crash on Highway 101 and W Laurel Drive killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 4:54 a.m. on southbound Highway 101, north of W Laurel Drive.

According to reports, three Salinas men occupying a Toyota Camry approached the exit at an unknown speed. Then, their car missed a left curve in the road before it rolled over and crashed into the Laurel Drive exit sign.

Then, the impact ejected the driver and one passenger from the car since they failed to wear seatbelts.

Moreover, responders took all three men to Natividad Medical Center for treatment. However, the driver succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the passengers had major injuries/

Also, the authorities suspect that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.
