1 Dead in Boyle Heights Auto Accident on Pomona Freeway and Lorena Street

BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA (January 2, 2024) – Monday morning, a devastating rollover crash on Pomona Freeway and Lorena Street killed 1 person.

The incident happened at around 6:00 a.m. on the eastbound Pomona Freeway and Lorena Street.

When responders arrived, they extricated two people from the white SUV. Meanwhile, one person was declared dead at the scene. Moreover, responders took six other people to hospitals. However, their condition remained unknown.

Furthermore, the authorities issued a SigAlert which shut down the No. 3, 4, and 5 lanes of the eastbound freeway. By 11:22 a.m., the SigAlert was lifted.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
