Police Pursuit Ends with El Paso Auto Accident on Doniphan Drive and Redd Road

EL PASO, TX (March 12, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a devastating rollover crash on Doniphan Drive and Redd Road killed 2 people.

The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. when a vehicle failed to pull over regarding a violation and a pursuit ensued.

Eventually, the chase led to a rollover crash on Doniphan Drive and Redd Road. Officers said that a total of eight people occupied the vehicle.
Then, two of them were declared dead at the scene.

El Paso Fire Department added that four other people sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Two individuals were transported with serious injuries, and two others with minor injuries, as reported by the Fire Department.

TxDOT has announced the closure of all westbound and eastbound lanes on Doniphan Drive before Redd Road. Additionally, eastbound traffic is being rerouted at West Green Avenue, while westbound traffic is being diverted back eastbound.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
