1 Person Dead in Liberty County Auto Accident on Plum Grove

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX (December 12, 2024) – Tuesday night, a devastating police chase crash on Plum Grove killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. when authorities attempted to pull over a vehicle that was reported stolen in the Plum Grove area.

According to reports, the vehicle fled the scene and turned down a logging road, and came upon a washout. Then, the suspect vehicle crashed and rolled over.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that a female occupant of the vehicle died at the scene. Then, officers said that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot after the crash but was later found in a canal. Also, responders transported the driver to a hospital with critical injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
