1 Dead in Palm Springs Pedestrian Accident on Sunrise Way and E Tahquitz Canyon Way

PALM SPRINGS, CA (February 29, 2024) – Tuesday night, a man died in a devastating pedestrian crash on Sunrise Way and E Tahquitz Canyon Way.

The man was hit shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Sunrise Way and East Tahquitz Canyon Way. Reports said that the man lying on a roadwayappeared to have committed suicide. Officers added that the man was declared dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, officers found the involved vehicle nearby and the driver subsequently came back to the scene.

“Based on the investigation, it was found the 55-year-old man had been lying in the roadway prior to being struck,” police revealed. “The PSPD Traffic Division, in conjunction with the coroner’s office, conducted further investigation leading to the conclusion that the incident appears to be a suicide.”

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
