The incident happened at around 6:17 p.m. on Rose Street and Josephine Street.

According to Berkeley Police Officer Byron White, an eastbound vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking south across Rose Street.

Moreover, responders rushed the 78-year-old male pedestrian to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, the 79-year-old female driver of the car remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
