VACAVILLE, CA (April 6, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a devastating pedestrian crash on Interstate 80 and Mason Street killed 1 person.

The incident occurred just before 4:45 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80, east of Mason Street.

According to reports, the pedestrian walked across the shoulder and made it over from the eastbound lanes.

However, as they entered the westbound freeway, several vehicles including a semi-trailer hit the pedestrian.

Moreover, the person later succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Also, the authorities closed three freeway lanes for just over two hours as officers investigated the scene.
