1 Dead in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 and US 50

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 20, 2024) – Sunday morning, a woman died in a devastating pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 and US 50.

The incident happened when a car struck a woman on northbound Interstate 5 at the US 50 transition.

When authorities arrived, they determined that a white Toyota was driving 65 miles per hour. Then, the driver suddenly saw the other woman in front of her vehicle.

“The female adult driver was unable to stop in time and the left front of her vehicle crashed into the pedestrian causing major damage,” CHP revealed. “Upon CHP arrival the pedestrian was declared deceased.”

Officers confirmed that the driver was not hurt.

“The deceased pedestrian was a female adult, believed to be 22 years old from Sacramento,” CHP says.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
