GARDEN GROVE, CA (June 26, 2023) – Sunday morning, a devastating pedestrian crash on Chapman Avenue and Nelson Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:10 a.m. on Chapman Avenue and Nelson Street.

According to Garden Grove police Sgt. Lino Santana, a truck struck a homeless man for still unknown reasons and then crashed into a tree.

Moreover, responders pronounced the pedestrian, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the female driver of the truck to a hospital with head and leg injuries.

Furthermore, authorities believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
