HAYWARD, CA (February 6, 2024) – Monday night, a devastating pedestrian accident on Interstate 580 and State Highway 238 killed 1 person.

The two-vehicle crash involving a male pedestrian happened at around 6:00 p.m. on Interstate 580 eastbound and the connector to State Highway 238.

When the CHP arrived, they declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene.

Also, the CHP suspected that the victim may have been involved in a separate collision on I-580 westbound before he was hit.
