1 Person Dead in Phoenix Multi-Vehicle Accident on Loop 202 near 32nd Street

PHOENIX, AZ (September 25, 2023) – Sunday morning, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Loop 202 near 32nd Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:15 a.m. on Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway near 32nd Street.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a vehicle involved in an earlier hit-and-run incident crashed for still unknown reasons. Then, a vehicle collided with the disabled vehicle. Moments later, a car pulled over to help the victims but a vehicle struck the Good Samaritan’s vehicle, injuring one of the two occupants of the vehicle.

Moreover, responders transported the Good Samaritan to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Then, paramedics transported a total of four people, a man in his 30s, a man in his 20s, an infant, and a man in his 40s, to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers believe that impairment played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
