VAN NUYS, CA (October 31, 2023) – Monday morning, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on 405 Freeway near Sherman Way killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on the northbound 405 Freeway, north of Sherman Way.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle collided with the center divider for still unknown reasons. Then, multiple vehicles struck the wrecked vehicle. Also, authorities believe that a wrong-way vehicle was involved in the incident.

Moreover, officers confirmed that one person died in the crash. Also, authorities reported that others involved in the incident sustained minor injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed multiple lanes but has long since reopened.
