TRAVIS COUNTY, TX (December 27, 2023) – Monday night, a devastating hit-and-run crash on State Highway 71 and Paleface Road killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at around 11:51 p.m. on State Highway 71 westbound near Paleface Ranch Road.

Reports said that on State Highway 71 westbound near the intersection of Paleface Ranch Road in western Travis County.

Furthermore, the Texas Department of Public Safety is urging for details from the public about the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Christmas night. Also, they confirmed that one pedestrian died.

DPS confirmed that the male pedestrian was probably hit by a 1994 to 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck didn’t stop to provide help to the pedestrian and is still at large.

Thus, the DPS urged anyone with details, including automotive body shop owners and workers, to contact the agency at (512) 424-7391.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
