OAKLAND, CA (December 28, 2023) – Tuesday night, a devastating hit-and-run crash on Interstate 880 near Coliseum killed 1 person.

The incident occurred just before 9:40 p.m. on northbound Interstate 880, near the Coliseum.

According to reports, a woman running in the lanes was hit. Then, one driver remained at the scene after the crash. Meanwhile, the CHP are still trying to determine whether other cars struck her and continued driving.

Moreover, the authorities shut down all lanes of northbound Interstate 880 in Oakland. At about 11:00 p.m., one lane was reopened. However, the three other lanes were still unavailable.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
