HOUSTON, TX (July 3, 2023) – Sunday morning, a devastating hit-and-run crash on Interstate 10 near South Fry Road killed 1 person.

The Houston Police Department responded at about 2:32 a.m. at Interstate 10 near South Fry Road.

According to reports, as a female pedestrian tried to change her tire on the shoulder of the highway, a vehicle hit her.

As a result, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the involved driver fled the crash scene and is still at large.

Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the female pedestrian in her 40s to 50s.

Due to the crash, the traffic was stalled in all of the main lanes, the left shoulder and right shoulder of I-10 Katy eastbound.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
