1 Dead in Kansas City Auto Accident on US 24 Highway
KANSAS CITY, MO (December 8, 2024) – Friday afternoon, a man died in a devastating head-on crash on US 24 Highway.
The crash occurred at about 3:20 p.m. when the driver of a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado, a 61-year-old man with a 13-year-old passenger, drove down 24 Highway. Then, he drove over the center line and collided with a 2016 Ford F-150 head-on.
Following the collision, the Silverado stopped on the road, while the F-150 came to rest in a ditch, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
Crash reports state that the driver of the Silverado was killed, and a 13-year-old passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the F-150, a 70-year-old man, was seriously injured.
Emergency responders transported both the injured teen and the 70-year-old man to hospitals.
This marks the 68th fatal crash and the 76th fatality in 2024 for MSHP’s Troop A.
