BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 26, 2023) – Sunday morning, a devastating auto accident on Panama Lane and Akers Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 3:15 a.m. at the intersection of Panama Lane and Akers Road.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a seriously injured adult male driver. However, he later succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, responders transported the female driver of the other car and her male passenger to the hospital. Both of them suffered moderate injuries which required further treatment.

According to investigations, the woman drove south on Akers Road and struck the other car, also heading south.

Then, she lost control of her car before hitting a tree.

Moreover, the authorities believed that speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.

Moreover, the crash shut down Akers Road between Panama Lane and Cyclone Drive for a brief time.
