PINE VALLEY, CA (April 11, 2023) – Friday afternoon, a man died in a devastating 2-vehicle crash on Buckman Springs Road.

The incident happened just before 2:30 p.m. when a 35-year-old man drove a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. As he traveled north on Buckman Springs Road, he drove over the double yellow lines into the southbound lane.

As a result, he collided head-on with a 1997 Toyota Tacoma, according to the CHP.

The impact left the 62-year-old driver of the 1997 Tacoma with fatal injuries. Officers declared him dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, a passenger sustained major injuries and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

Also, the 35-year-old motorist sustained major injuries and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.
