60-Year-Old San Bernardino Woman Fatally Injured in Accident on Intersection of Lynwood Drive and Del Rosa Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (February 25, 2018) – A woman was killed after a car crash on the intersection of Lynwood Drive and Del Rosa Avenue, on Sunday late afternoon.
Desiree Varner, 60, of San Bernardino was driving westbound on Lynwood in a 2014 Kia when she was struck, around 4:20 PM. The second vehicle was a 2002 Chevrolet that was traveling eastbound and ran a red light.
Varner sustained injuries and was transported by emergency personnel to the St. Bernardine Medical Center, where she was shortly after pronounced dead in the emergency room.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal incident. No information has been released on the identity of the other driver involved. It is unclear whether or not drugs and alcohol were contributing factors in the accident, or if charges will be filed.
