Quentin Darnell Black Dead in Long Beach Hit and Run, Police Arrest Quentin Black
LONG BEACH, CA (June 13, 2021) – Saturday afternoon, a guard named Derrick Smith died in a hit-and-run crash on San Gabriel Avenue and Cabrillo Apartment Complex.
According to police spokesman Richard Mejia, the incident happened at the 2000 block of San Gabriel Avenue. The crash occurred at around 3:10 p.m. at the Century Villages at Cabrillo apartment complex in West Long Beach.
Reports revealed that a southbound SUV struck a guard, Los Angeles man Derrick Smith, inside a security station.
Furthermore, responding paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities ask anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver to contact their local law enforcement agencies.
Later reports detailed that police located and arrested the suspect hit and run driver. Quentin Darnell Black, 31, of Moreno Valley was booked into the Long Beach County Jail.
Black’s bail is set at 100k, and he is being charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.
