Two Homeless Men Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near Naomi Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 27, 2018) – Two homeless men were injured late Saturday evening following a hit-and-run crash near Naomi Avenue. The victims were later identified as 52-year-old Derrick Harris and 47-year-old Channon Milner.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident took place at about 10:30 PM on East 17th Street. A Chevy Tahoe slammed into the victims while one of them was working on a bike and the other was fixing a crate.
Harris and Milner both suffered critical injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the pickup driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the driver’s arrest. No further details have been provided to the public at this time, as an investigation is ongoing.
