1 Dead in Phoenix Multi-Vehicle Accident near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (May 18, 2021) – Sunday morning, Dereck Ashe died in a 5-car crash near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road.
 
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they located five vehicles involved in the crash. Meanwhile, the crash ejected 46-year-old passenger Dereck Ashe from his car. As a result, Ashe succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
 
The police revealed that as a white Acura sedan drove south down 27th Avenue, it didn’t yield to a red light. As a result, the Acura crashed into a blue Chrysler sedan. Then, the impact sent the Acura to crash into three other vehicles in the intersection.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported a 28-year-old male passenger in the Acura. He sustained injuries and was listed in critical condition.
 
On the other hand, the drivers of the four vehicles suffered no injuries and declined hospitalization.
 
The incident caused traffic restriction in the area for multiple hours.
