Injuries Reported in Travis County Accident on State Highway 130 near Pearce Lane
TRAVIS COUNTY, TX (February 1, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a deputy suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on State Highway 130 near Pearce Lane.
The incident happened at about 9:00 a.m. on State Highway 130 near Pearce Lane.
According to reports, the crash involved at least three 18-wheelers that flipped.
Travis County Fire Rescue confirmed that all bridges and overpasses on SH 130 are extremely dangerous.
Reports confirmed that the deputy pulled over and exited his vehicle to assist the driver of an 18-wheeler that had gone off the roadway and was disabled.
As the deputy assisted the driver, another 18-wheeler slid on the icy roadway. Then, that truck hit the deputy and pinned them beneath one of its tractor tires.
At about 9:35 a.m., emergency crews managed to extricate the deputy. Then, responders took him to a local hospital or surgery, and is expected to survive his injuries.
