TEMPE, AZ (January 19, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, a deputy suffered injuries in a semi-truck crash near Rural Road and Baseline Road.
 
According to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputy, the crash happened near Rural Road and Baseline Road.
 
When the officers arrived, they found an overturned semi-truck and a marked MCSO vehicle. Moreover, both of the vehicles were wrecked off the roadway at the intersection. They added that both vehicles struck a block wall.
 
Meanwhile, the investigators revealed that the on-duty MCSO deputy headed southbound through the intersection. Afterward, an eastbound semi-truck t-boned them.
 
Then, responders loaded a deputy onto a stretcher and took them to a hospital for treatment. Reports confirmed that the deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Also, the driver of the semi-truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and required hospitalization.
 
Moreover, officers said that either driver showed no signs of impairment.
 
Furthermore, authorities advised motorists to avoid the area while crews worked at the scene.
