Police Seeks the Hit-And-Run Driver after Crash in the Costco Parking Lot near Via Princessa
Santa Clarita Valley, CA (August 6, 2021) – Thursday night, a deputy sustained injuries in a hit and run crash in the Costco parking lot while at work.
The crash in Santa Clarita Valley happened at around 9:15 p.m on August 5, near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway in Canyon Country.
Reportedly, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Costco parking lot. When the deputy asked for an I.D., the suspect accelerated and sped away.
Part of the vehicle struck the deputy and knocked him to the ground while the suspect fled the scene.
A brief pursuit was then initiated, but the deputies lost sight of the vehicle.
Moreover, at around 9:30 p.m., the vehicle was found unoccupied on the opposite side of Costco from where the traffic stop occurred.
Containment was established, however, the suspect was not located.
As of Friday morning, the suspect is still at large. The deputy sustained minor injuries.
Authorities continue to search the driver and for further investigation.
