Motorcycle Collision with Car in Santa Clarita Sends Deputy to Hospital
SANTA CLARITA, CA (June 17, 2019) – A crash on Avenue Scott and Rye Canyon Road sent a motorcycle deputy to the hospital on Friday.
Officials said the crash happened at around 2:35 p.m. In addition, the accident involved a motorcycle deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Initial reports indicated that the vehicle rear-ended the motorcycle officer while he was stopped on Avenue Scott. The deputy was conscious and breathing after the crash. However, officials did not release information on the extent of the officer’s injuries.
The investigators believe that a charcoal-colored four-door Mazda was also involved. After that, man who appeared to be in his 20s identified himself as the driver of the vehicle.
Meantime, both drivers remained at the scene of the crash while investigators took statements from the witnesses. Neither vehicle had noticeable damage.
