Motorcycle Rider Fatally Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision on 25 Freeway and 70 Freeway

DENVER, CO (April 28, 2018) – On Saturday, an unidentified man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident on 25 Freeway.

According to Denver Police officials, the crash occurred early in the morning on the northbound 25 Freeway ramp to the 70 Freeway, when the driver of a Honda Ridgeline pickup sideswiped a vehicle. The initial collision then caused the pickup to crash into a motorcycle, before fleeing the scene.

Officers found the suspect and his pickup truck at 46th and York, and took the driver into custody. A Denver police spokesman stated that he was being held for investigation of driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular homicide. The suspect sustained a minor arm injury.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

The ramp from the northbound 25 Freeway to the westbound 70 was closed during the investigation. Denver police stated that impairment was a suspected cause of the crash.
