Five People Hospitalized after Car Crash on 70 Freeway near Grape Street
DENVER, CO (April 20, 2018) – A person died and another was critically injured after a car crash on 70 Freeway, early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 4:00 AM when a white Infiniti veered out of the eastbound lanes of the 70 Freeway near Grape Street, for an unknown reason. The Infiniti struck a tree and took out a power box.
The five people indie of the vehicle during the crash were transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. One of them died succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead by medical professionals. Another person remains in critical condition.
The eastbound lanes of that 70 Freeway were closed at Stapleton Drive for more than three hours after the crash for investigation.
Authorities have not announced if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this crash and the identities of the victims were not immediately released. They are still investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
