Denise Barkus of Los Angeles Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Imperial Highway [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (October 9, 2024) – 62-year-old Denise Barkus of Los Angeles was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Imperial Highway Monday night.

It was about 8:50 p.m. when the deadly crash happened west of Parmelee Avenue.

Investigators said Barkus was walking outside of a crosswalk, southbound across Imperial Highway. 

Suddenly, a two-toned silver or white sedan traveling east on the same road struck her.

Denise Barkus was declared deceased at the crash scene while the sedan driver did not stop to render aid as required by law and continued driving east.
