Taisha Welch Arrested for Fatal Beverly Hills DUI Crash and Driving with Suspended License

BEVERLY HILLS, CA (April 27, 2018) – A solo-car crash in Beverly Hills left two people dead and four others injured, early Friday morning. The victims were identified by their friends as De’Nesha Stewart and Jenetta Williams, a mother of five children.

According to the Beverly Hills police, they received reports about a solo-vehicle accident at around 1:30 AM near the intersection of South Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevard.

Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered some of the victims lying on the ground after getting thrown off the overturned BMW X5. With a total of six passengers in a considerably smaller SUV, it was highly likely that the passengers were not secured in a seatbelt.

In the preliminary investigation, the authorities mentioned that the vehicle, driven by 30-year-old Taisha Welch, was traveling at a significantly high rate of speed when it lost control, crashed into a tree, and flipped over. It was also noted that it was a possibility that the vehicle might have ran a red light in the area before the crash occurred.

Stewart and Williams were pronounced dead at the scene. Four others in the vehicle, with ages ranging from 20 to 35, were rushed to the hospital after sustaining minor to serious injuries. Welch was arrested on the suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a license. She is currently being held on $100,000 bail and appeared in court on May 1, 2018.

A GoFundMe was set up to help Williams’ family with funeral expenses. Click on the link to donate.
