18-Year-Old Detained after 2-Car Collision on Fourth Street in Santa Paula
SANTA PAULA, CA (March 23, 2020) – Friday night, authorities arrested 18-year-old Demetrio Casimiro of Santa Paula, after a DUI Crash on Main Street.
A business was severely damaged when Casimiro lost control of his vehicle and struck a business establishment on 320 E. Main Street.
The establishment was later identified as Casa de Moda, a small store with a glass front.
Moreover, Casimiro’s passenger was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, four occupants of the second vehicle were reportedly uninjured.
The surrounding area on Main Street was closed off during cleanup and preliminary investigations. There, authorities discovered that Casimiro was under the influence of alcohol.
Police later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury. In addition, he was also booked to Ventura County jail with a bail set at $50,000.
Meanwhile, a Ventura County Fire Department urban search-and-rescue team worked on scene to remove a damaged part of the store.
