Delia Huerta Fatally Hurt after Valley Glen Pedestrian Crash on Vanowen Street
VALLEY GLEN, CA (September 18, 2019) – A crossing guard identified as Delia Huerta died after a pedestrian crash on Monday, September 16.
A vehicle struck 57-year-old Delia Huerta, of Sun Valley, shortly after 7 a.m. in the 13400 block of Vanowen Street near Sunnyslope Avenue.
The same vehicle also struck a teen girl who suffered broken bones. Paramedics rushed both to a regional trauma center. Huerta died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, police stated.
The driver of the sedan that struck them was not hurt and stayed at the scene.
The cause and circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
