1 Dead in Bakersfield Motorcycle Collision on Chester Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 17, 2020) – A 24-year-old man identified as Deion Shaquille Nobles died in a truck and motorcycle collision on Chester Avenue.
Authorities arrested the truck driver involved in the crash on February 14. Consequently, he’s detained on charges of suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
The officers first responded to the intersection of Chester Avenue and 2nd Street just before 6:00 p.m. There, they discovered the collision involved a pick-up truck and a motorcycle.
Bakersfield police Sgt. Ken Sporer later revealed that the pick-up truck made an unsafe turn as the motorcyclist, Deion Shaquille Nobles, approached the intersection. Motorcyclist Deion Shaquille Nobles crashed with the truck and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, truck driver, Torres Dawson, was intoxicated and was arrested. He was then booked into the Kern County Jail.
