One Killed in DUI Collision Near Pennsylvania Avenue
FAIR OAKS, CA (December 31, 2019) – Police arrested Debra Christie after a fatal crash on Sunset Avenue on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Pennsylvania Avenue just after 9:00 PM.
Reports showed that the suspect’s vehicle left the road and hit a guy-wire for an unknown reason. The vehicle flipped over, ejecting one passenger.
The car rolled on top of the passenger and the victim died at the scene. Two other teenage passengers were wearing seatbelts and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
39-year-old Christie of Folsom ran away from the scene of the crash. However, police arrested her in the North Sacramento area. She was found to have been driving under the influence at the time of the crash and was booked into Sacramento County Jail for felony charges, including hit-and-run, DUI, manslaughter and a probation violation.
An investigation is on-going.
