The victims have been identified as 68-year-old Deborah Ann Yank of Oceanside and 52-year-old Sonia Rivera of Santa Clarita.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 12:30 PM. A 2005 Toyota Sienna, driven by Rivera, attempted to turn north on Highway 395. Rivera’s car pulled directly in front of Yank’s vehicle.

Meanwhile, Rivera sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
