HOLTVILLE, CA (June 7, 2022) – Sunday morning, a man died and Dean Aceveda sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 78.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 7:05 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on State Route 78 and Butters Road.
 
Reports revealed that a northbound vehicle entered the intersection and into the path of an eastbound pickup truck. Then, the force of the crash ejected the 41-year-old male driver of the first vehicle into the roadway.
 
Moreover, officials confirmed that the driver of the first vehicle died at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the pickup driver, 20-year-old Dean Aceveda of Brawley, to Pioneers Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, the events leading to the crash remain under investigation.
