NATIONAL CITY, CA (November 18, 2019) — A deadly pedestrian collision at 805 Freeway and Highway 54 occurred Sunday night in National City.
 
The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at about 6:00 p.m. A vehicle struck a pedestrian on the transition road between the two major roadways.
 
The pedestrian died at the scene. On the other hand, the driver stopped after the incident. The officers did make any arrest.
 
The CHP closed the transition road until about 8:45 p.m. during the investigation and emergency response.
 
Meantime, the authorities withheld the identity of the victim pending family notification. However, the investigation is ongoing.
