Car Hit and Killed Pedestrian on Highway 99 in Biggs
BIGGS, CA (July 22, 2019) – A person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 late Thursday night.
Officers of the California Highway Patrol’s Oroville office said the incident occurred in the northbound lanes near Hastings Avenue.
They responded to the crash at about 11:25 p.m. after a report that a vehicle struck a pedestrian. The CHP said that the pedestrian entered the northbound lanes of Highway 99, and the vehicle was going at 55 mph.
Officials have not identified the person killed in the crash.
Investigators ruled out alcohol and/or drugs as factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to the crash is asked to contact CHP at 530-538-2700.
