Fatal Pedestrian Crash Closes US Highway 101
Petaluma, CA (April 08, 2022) On Friday, a deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 101 claimed the life of a person.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the fatal collision happened around 11:51 a.m. just north of East Washington Street.
The CHP closed all southbound lanes and issued a Sig-alert around 12:09 p.m.
Additionally, police shut down the onramps to southbound US 101 at Petaluma Boulevard North and Old Redwood Highway.
The closure caused traffic congestion and caused backups.
Ultimately, the road closure ended just after 2 p.m.
