National City, CA (August 27, 2021) – On Thursday, a person suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5.

Officers received the accident report at about 4:45 a.m. near Division Street.

A person was struck and killed on Interstate 5 in the National City area in what is being investigated as a possible hit-and-run collision.

The authorities said the unidentified person ran from the right shoulder of the freeway toward the center divider. The pedestrian was then struck by at least one vehicle.
