Deadly High-Speed Crash on Interstate 5 Kills Man [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (April 22, 2023) On Thursday evening, a high-speed crash on Interstate 5 left a man dead and a woman injured.

LAFD says that the violent solo-vehicle crash happened around 10:54 p.m. at the south lanes of Interstate 5 and Whittier Boulevard.

Reports say that a car struck the guard rail and fell off an embankment. Authorities say that approximately 100 feet of guard rail were damaged as a result of the crash.

Afterward, the vehicle rolled over multiple times and stopped after hitting a block wall.

Officials say that the female driver was ejected from the vehicle, while a male passenger was left trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters extricated the trapped victim, described as a man in his 20s, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Meanwhile, the driver, a woman in her 30s, suffered major injuries and is in critical condition.

CHP is investigating the probable cause of the violent solo-vehicle crash.
